Hello all.
Just a quick message to say we have added 3 new tags.

Merchandise - like news, but for merchandise, obviously, like the perfume post below. Also if you have any queries, photos etc about it.

Links - not for things like links to your own journals but for video clips, selectons of photos, that kind of thing.

Discussion - because I think it would be cool to have a bit of friendly discussion, about the show and the characters and stuff. Feel free.

Stay safe, best wishes.

The smash hit musical WICKED has been named GREATEST MUSICAL OF THE PAST 30 YEARS in an online poll conducted by Dress Circle - "the greatest showbiz shop in the world" - as part of their 30th Anniversary celebrations.

Executive Producer Michael McCabe said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award. Since opening in London, Wicked has been lucky to have won several major awards in polls conducted by members of the theatregoing public.

However, it is particularly meaningful to us that the passionate musical theatre fans who are such loyal customers at Dress Circle should honour us in this way. We are great fans of the shop and thank everyone there for their continued support of Wicked and all the customers who voted".

WICKED stars Oliver Tompsett and Dianne Pilkington were at Dress Circle to receive this prestigious award.

Congratulations again to Wicked in the UK! They seem to be doing quite well in their successes recently!

Fans of the musical Wicked can now buy two fragrances based on the main characters of the show. The scents - named Defy Gravity and Popular - were created in conjuction with Ascent Aromatics and are available online and at Wicked shows.

Popular is described as a "swankified sugar based scent made with notes of wild orchid, cassis, orange blossoms, and nectarines" and Defy Gravity "embodies the rebellious spirit of Elphaba with a deep aroma of cedar, jasmine, plum, amber, cardamom, and patchouli leaves mixed with hints of vanilla and citrus".

Both fragrances are $45 for 50ml.

Wicked starts it's 2nd National Tour of America in just under a month, and the principle cast of the production have been confirmed:

She then went on to understudy Elphaba on Broadway, before taking over the role after Kerry Ellis. Marcie finished her run on Broadway on 11th January, and was succeeded by Nicole Parker.

*We are unsure of these dates. If we hear anything, we'll let you know.

"And did she ever come out?"
"Not yet."

It has been seven years since the demise of the Wicked Witch of the West.
Oz has been thriving under the reign of Ozma Tippetarius, who was discovered
living under the guise of a boy; a foul plot designed by her own father,
King Pastoria, who did not wish to give up his title to his daughter,
the rightful ruler of Oz. Though she is young, she is fair, and the destruction
caused by the Wizard is slowly but surely being patched up.

But some things can never be mended.

Believing magic has always been a factor in the destruction of their society,
Ozma has banned the practice of it, allowing only her own ministers to
wield such power. Glinda the Good, who has escalated from Witch status
to Sorceress, now rules more than just the Gillikin Country she hailed from.
She now oversees all under their child leader, tending to the things that
Ozma cannot. The Quadling Country has become her latest project, attempting
to civilize it in memory of her dear old friend who was once raised there...

Not all are pleased with the banning of magic, as expected. Black markets
and hidden teaching societies are springing up all across the darker
corners of Oz, and some are even growing bold enough to surface
in well-known establishments of learning, such as Shiz University. Ozma is
aware of the treachery going on in her kingdom, but she has yet to
find the source of these on-goings. Little does she know, the head of this
black organization might be one of her very own...

Meanwhile, rumors of a black shadow flying across the skies have spread across the land.
Is this a blantant show of disrespect towards Princess Ozma's ban on magic?
Or...is it something or someone else?

I'm going to host a "Wicked" watching party for some friends that haven’t seen it yet. I have a lot planned but I need your help.

1st- costumes- does anybody have really big and clear photos of the cloths? Especially the "official" (final) cloths of Galinda and Elphaba? I want details. Including shoes!!!! Is Elphaba with her big boots all the way? Or just at Shiz?

2nd- does anybody have a tip about the way to make the green skin make-up? We don't have MAC here, the company that the show is using, so it's not as easy for me as for other people.

Plus, if anybody is in a giving mood I will be happy to have another video/vob of Wicked.
